About The Lane School Of Dance

Ballroom and Latin American dancing is such fun, whatever your age, and is a great way of socialising, meeting new people and most importantly keeping active all at the same time.

Not only is dancing one of the best forms of exercise to keep you fit, it also teaches co-ordination skills, helps keep the brain active and hence encourages confidence.

The school always has on offer an ‘absolute beginners class’ but also caters for more experienced ballroom dancers, so whether you have danced in the past or are new to it, come and give it a go, and suddenly you will realise what you have been missing.

The school aims to build up confidence by teaching basic ballroom and latin american dancing steps and technique correctly which gives you a good foundation that you can continue to build upon as you progress.

You will soon find yourself going out to dances and feeling comfortable on the dance floor.

Please note: The school is independent from any other organisation and ballroom dancing classes are taught at two venues (Sheringham and North Walsham) in North Norfolk on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. See "Venues and Prices" for further details details.

Your Dance Teacher

Yvonne Sidebotham your NATD and IDTA Qualified Ballroom and Latin American Dancing Teacher

Yvonne Sidebotham

My dancing career started at the tender age of 3 yrs. old.  My original training was in Ballet and Acrobatics which continued until my teenage years when I then moved into the Ballroom and Latin dancing field.

After taking time out to bring up a family I continued with my passion of dancing and qualified as a professional teacher in Ballroom & Latin American dance with the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (N.A.T.D.) and The International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A.)

With now over 45 years of dancing experience I enjoy the challenge of passing on my knowledge of Ballroom and Latin American dancing to others who are keen to learn.
